A NEW COVENANT

Jeremiah 31:31-34

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; after these days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inwards parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:33

Busy, busy, busy! How busy are you today? Are your everyday chores and circumstances looming like a gigantic, craggy mountain before your eyes? As you start your climb up the steep terrain, are you terrified that you may slip and fall as you so vigorously implant each foot into the deep crevices on this mountain of your own thoughts and accomplishments? This enemy of self-accomplishment weaves its web around your heart, your soul, your life, obscuring your vision and draining the life-saving blood from your body. The enemy is subtle as he uses these devices we so unwittingly hand him on a silver platter, to pull our focus away from Almighty God and onto ourselves.

There is Good News! In this prison of our own making, our chains shall be loosed, if we turn our eyes upon Jesus, waiting on Him, being still before Him, as He pours His abundant grace into our repentant hearts. As He pardons our iniquity, He alone levels our mountain and makes our paths straight, revealing His glory.

This is the New Covenant—He opens our blind eyes, throws wide the prison doors, and floods our darkness with His glorious light! It’s an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and sure, for He is our salvation and desire. God delights in the person who will humble himself, confessing his sins, and asking for mercy. He meets the heart that is broken and contrite. But the question is, “Will you come out?” When the prison chains are loosed, when you are no longer shackled to the old life, will you take the first step towards the Savior? Or will your first step lead you deeper into the prison of familiarity, the specific place with which you are well acquainted, because this has always been your way of life? Praise God! He calls and says, “I am the light of the world! He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

A step of faith that leads you into a life of abundance and joy! Today, come away from the old and into the new, living a life of holiness, purity, and unutterable joy in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His arms are outstretched and waiting to enfold all who will yield their blackened hearts into His hands, to be washed clean with His life-saving blood. Allelulia!

Sing praises to God, sing praises: Sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; Sing ye praises with understanding.” Psalm 47:6,7
